Adaptation Course to the Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Distribution of places and specific selection criteria:

  • 75% for those who received their degree in the four academic years immediately before the academic year in which they want to enroll. For this admission, each of the following criteria will be considered, in the order in which they appear:
  1. Degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, Electricity major, from the University of Vigo
  2. Academic record
  3. Professional experience

 

  • 25% of the places will be reserved for those who have the degree, but do not meet the previous condition. For this admission, each of the following criteria will be considered, in the order in which they appear:
  1. Degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, Electricity major, from the University of Vigo, or previous degrees from the EEI of Vigo
  2. Academic record
  3. Professional experience

Contents:

They must successfully complete 60 ECTS

  • Compulsory: They must complete 48 ECTS in the following subjects:

Environmental Technology (6 ECTS)
Fundamentals of automation (6 ECTS) – R2
Theory of Machines and Mechanisms (6 ECTS) – R2.
Fundamentals of Business Organization (6 ECTS) – R1
Science and Technology of Materials (6 ECTS) – R1/R2
Fundamentals of Manufacturing Systems and Technologies (6 ECTS)
Automatic Regulation (6 ECTS) – R2
Electric Power Generation from Renewable Energies (6 ECTS) – R1

  • Compulsory: Final Degree Project (12 ECTS)

Credit Recognition:

Once a student has enrolled, up to 18 ECTS credits can be recognized for professional and work experience acquired prior to the relevant official studies. Such experience must be wide and closely related to the skills inherent to the official degree. Recognition will take into account the appropriateness of the professional and work experience with regard to the professional training provided by the degree. Professional experience that is not related to the skills inherent to the degree, and that is not duly confirmed by the Social Security General Treasury (Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social), shall not be taken into account. Experience shall not count towards any credits if it is below 5 years.

These credits shall be recognized as subjects that students will not need to take and will not be given a grade, so they will be included in the calculation of the average grade.

The Final Degree Project shall never the object of credit recognition.

The subjects that may be eligible for credit recognition, up to the maximum number of credits indicated above, vary according to the applicable program of studies. Students who followed the 1971 program may apply for credit recognition of the subjects marked R1, while students who followed the 2000 program may do so for those marked R2.

Valuation of professional experience:

  • 5 years of professional experience: 6 ECTS
  • 6 years of professional experience:: 12 ECTS
  • 7 years of professional experience:: 18 ECTS
