Foreign Mobility Students

There is a wide variety of destinations for foreign mobility students, including both European countries and countries in Asia and America, as well as Australia.

To request the mobility, students must apply for the program (see mobility programs). Once they have been selected as mobility students, they will receive a Learning Agreement through the Online Office of the Secretary (Secretaría Virtual), which they must fill out and submit for approval to the Associate Dean of External Relations (Subdirección de Exteriores). In order to do that, students must present their academic record (an official transcript is not necessary) showing a summary of the credits they have successfully completed and those pending. In this way, the Associate Dean of External Relations will be able to assess whether or not a candidate meets the required criteria to approve their mobility.

The Learning Agreement will be signed by the Associate Dean of External Relations and given to the student in the established office hours. It must be signed before the student leaves for the receiving university.

Students have a period of one month from their arrival at the receiving university to make any changes to their Learning Agreement. As the agreement will already have been signed, students must get in touch by email with the Associate Dean of External Relations to be able to open the agreement again through the Online Office of the Secretary and make the desired changes. Once the changes have been made, students must inform the Associate Dean of External Relations by email once again so that the Learning Agreement can be approved and sent to the Office of International Relations (Oficina de Relaciones Internacionales, ORI) of the University of Vigo. This office will send the documents back to the equivalent office in the receiving university. Upon their arrival, students must make sure the documents are signed by the receiving university and returned to the Office of International Relations of the University of Vigo.

There two necessary and essential documents that the Associate Dean of External Relations must receive:

  • The Learning Agreement, which must be signed both by the university of origin and the receiving university.
  • The Transcript of Records showing the grades awarded to the student during their stay in the foreign university.

The procedure for the recognition of free elective credits is different depending on the facilities to which the student belongs:

Campus Site:

This is done in the Office of Student Affairs (Negociado de Alumno) of the Campus Facilities. Once the Transcript of Records and the Learning Agreement have been received, if the subject has been awarded a passing grade in the Learning Agreement, the Office of the Secretary (Secretaría) will proceed to recognize it.

City Site:

In this case, once both the Learning Agreement and the Transcript of Records have been received, students must go to the office of the Associate Dean of External Relations. There, after checking that the subject has been passed and appears in the Learning Agreement, the Associate Dean of External Relations will issue a report that the student must take to the Office of Student Affairs (Negociado de Alumnos) of the City Facilities, which will proceed to recognize it.
